Truth Made Known: How did God create man? God created man, male and female, after his own image. This is our October catechism question! There will be one a month for several months and your children can earn a prize if they memorize all of them!
Gospel Kids Family Discussion Questions: Please, take home (and read ;-)) our parent page! The discussion questions will help you engage your child and reinforce the lesson from Sunday.

Nursery (Infants - 3s)
The youngest among us are warmly welcomed at East Cobb Presbyterian Church! We offer nurseries for infants through age 3 during the Sunday morning worship service. Children may be dropped off beginning at 10:15 a.m. We know that when you understand your kids are being lovingly cared for, you can focus your hearts and minds more fully on corporate worship. If your infant will be joining you in the worship service, we have an Infant Care Room available at the rear of the sanctuary if you would like some privacy to feed or care for your child.
Gospel Kids
During the school year, our Sunday morning program for students in pre-k (4yrs old by Sept 1) through 5th grade provides an opportunity for your kids to worship and learn alongside their peers in fun and engaging ways. We encourage our families to go to worship together at 10:30am, and then children are invited to join us for Gospel Kids during the offering (around 10:45am).
This program runs from August - May.
Foundations
Fourth and Fifth graders learn why the gospel is relevant to their lives, are equipped to identify the lies of our culture and counter them with truth, and get answers to tough questions about the Christian faith in the safe and loving context of our Foundations discipleship class. These lessons will take them beyond a head knowledge of the gospel and challenge them to think deeply about what the truth of the Scripture and the person and work of Jesus means for their lives.
This program runs from August - April.
WHAT WE’RE LEARNING THIS WEEK
Gospel Kids - This week our lesson will continue from the building of the tabernacle to the creating of the golden calf. God had been speaking to Moses on the mountain for many days. The people thought he was not coming back, so they turned away from God and told Aaron to make them idols of gold, which he did. God was going to destroy the Israelites because of this great sin and start over again with Moses and his descendants. But Moses, acting as an intercessor, begged God not to do this. His appeal was based on God’s promise to make Abraham, Isaac, and Israel (Jacob) into a great nation.
Moses is a wonderful picture of Jesus who even now is our mediator standing between us and God pleading for our good (Romans 8:34). Jesus offered his life in exchange for ours and like Moses was willing to suffer our punishment. Moses’ life could never have purchased the forgiveness of someone else because Moses was a sinner. Nevertheless, we see a vivid picture of Christ in the life of Moses.
Foundations- This Sunday our Foundations class will continue our unit 2 study titled: What Should I Worship. In class we will learn what it means to worship something and defend whether or not what we worship is important. The class will learn that what we worship affects all that we think, say, and do.

What’s something you’d like to give God from your heart?
3. The Ark and God’s Meeting Place
The Ark was the place where God met with His people. Do you have a place you meet with God for a devotion or quiet time?
4. Worship and God’s Presence
How can we show that we want to honor God in how we spend our time at home or with our friends?
TRUTH MADE KNOWN CATECHISM STUDY
We will learn one new question a month.
BIBLE VERSE
Our Bible Verse for this unit is the Beatitudes. We will learn a new portion each month.
Each Sunday your child will bring home a Parent Page. Inside you’ll find simple discussion questions that connect to that week’s lesson. These questions are wonderful prompts that spark meaningful conversation and help reinforce the Gospel truths your child learned in class.

Parents, we are restarting our Catechism program for the year. This page will go home with your child in September. Spend time together learning the questions and answers. In November, once your child has memorized them, simply sign the form and have your child turn it in to their teacher to receive a prize.
Several Kids in worship dates have been scheduled for this year. Our children in Pre-K thru 5th grade will have the opportunity to worship with us in the sanctuary. A special children’s bulletin will be available to help them follow along. Nurseries will be open for children 3 and under.
Summer Discipleship
During the summer months, our students who are finishing PreK rising 3rd grade are invited to join us for our summer discipleship program during the worship service. We encourage our families to go to worship together at 10:30am, and then children are invited to join us for Gospel Kids during the offering (around 10:45am). Students who are finishing up 4th and 5th grades join us for the full worship service.
This program runs from June 1 — July 29.
TINY SYSTEMATICS WORKBOOK
This workbook is designed for ages 5-12, and we recommend it as a helpful resource for our rising fourth and fifth graders who are worshipping alongside us on Sundays this summer. We have a limited number of workbooks available. You can pick up your copy from the Children's Ministries office at East Cobb Presbyterian Church after purchase.
